In 1954, KC College was established by the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board.
The University of Mumbai recognised the college the Best College (Urban Area) in 2015. The college has been reaccredited by the NAAC three times in a row with an A rating. The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, awarded the college the Star Scheme and Star College Status in 2019.
The college is also funded by the esteemed FIST programme provided by the DST of the Indian government (Department of Science and Technology).

Mithibai College of Arts, Chauhan Institute of Science, and Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce and Economics (Autonomous) have all been envisioned as destinations for the most talented and promising students ever since its founding in 1961. The college consists of 32 departments, 16 of which are graduate departments, 10 of which provide Ph.D. programmes. Regardless of their financial situation, it has consistently backed an admissions policy that favours deserving applicants. The college instils traits that position students for academic achievement by promoting critical thinking, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to accountability.

The BEST COLLEGE AWARD for the 2018–19 academic year went to the University of Mumbai. According to INDIA TODAY, science and business faculties are ranked first, and arts faculties are placed second. Additionally, the Government of India provided 1.5 crores rupees in financing to Mithibai College from DBT-Star College and DST-FIST. Furthermore, this year is important. The UGC has approved Grade 1 AUTONOMY without an expert committee’s physical presence for a ten-year period.

In 1832, the Indian missionary Rev. John Wilson founded Wilson College. The Wilson School undergone a number of name and site changes after initially starting as Ambroli English School in Girgaum, Mumbai. The collegiate department, from which Wilson College grew, was established in 1836.

Sophia College has been connected to the University of Mumbai since its foundation in 1940. (independent). The Society for the Higher Education of Women in India’s Governing Body is in charge of the College. Both lay employees and Religious Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus make up the College’s staff.
In France in 1800, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat established the Society of the Sacred Heart. Its main objective is to give children a well-rounded education. Shortly after India’s independence in 1948, a group of former faculty members of D.J. Sind College in Karachi and other renowned educators founded Jai Hind College, Autonomous, Mumbai, primarily with the goal of restoring the educational system for the Sindhi population. Their goal was to contribute their skills, knowledge, and experience to the establishment of an elite educational institution.The college quickly developed from its humble beginnings as a two-room institution that exclusively offered courses in the Arts stream to adding Science in 1949 and then Commerce in 1980. After 2000, the college introduced a number of “Self-financed” and “Vocational” courses to assist students in finding employment after graduation, including the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM), Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (BAF), Bachelor of Banking and Insurance (BBI), Bachelor of Financial Market (BFM), and Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Travel & Tourism Management (B. Voc. TT) and Software Development (B. Voc. SD).

History demonstrates unequivocally that classes quickly filled up. The College, which is located at 123 Dinshaw Wachha Road and faces the University of Mumbai with its imposing clock tower, was built on ideas.
H.C. Malkani serves as Seth Hassaram Rijhumal’s principal. Principals K.M. Kundnani, H.C. Malkani, and Jyotu Kundnani The Hassaram Rijhumal College of Commerce & Economics opened its Hyderabad Sind campus the same year as another commerce college in Karachi, but the fledgling school was forced to close its doors quickly due to the turmoil of Partition.
